Dr. Hamilton was born and raised in Edmonton. Her secondary education
was done at the University of Alberta. She taught grades 7,8 and 9
science for seven years before going back to school to pursue her MD.
She then worked as a family doctor in St Albert, Alberta, from
1990-2004. She had a full service family practice including all ages
of patients, a lot of maternity care plus a busy hospital practice.
She also participated in the medical community as President of the
local medical association and Chief of Family Practice. She has
always enjoyed teaching medical students and family practice
residents. She moved to Victoria and joined Doctors' Medical Clinic
in 2004.
Dr. Hamilton currently enjoys looking after all ages of patients but
no longer does maternity care. She continues to teach
medical students and
residents. She is a Clinical Instructor for the
UBC Medical School.
Dr. Hamilton is married and has one son who lives in Edmonton. She
enjoys long walks (with or without her dogs), food, music, theatre,
and travel.
